Korina Sanchez’s Weight Loss

“Ampayat ni Korina!” (Korina is so thin!)

I’m sure a lot of you have uttered these words recently.  Admittedly, I have, with a teeny weeny bit of envy. Like her or not, she looks darn good!

So what’s Korina’s secret?  How did she get from this:

Korina-Sanchez fat

to this…

Well, apparently, she’s into the Cohen Diet. I know a few people who have gone through this diet and have successfully lost weight. I would, too, especially if I were paying Php50,000 for it. 🙂

Korina says she lost 15 pounds after being in this diet for a month. Here, she gives us a few tips on how to lose weight without having to pay so much.

It sounds a lot like South Beach Diet, though. And SBD is so much more affordable. Check out my sample 2-week menu for Pinoy SBD Phase 1 here and Phase 2 here. (Disclaimer: Please note that it’s always best to consult a doctor or a nutritionist before getting into any kind of diet.)

Food for Thought:

Apart from being one of the oldest and most visited pilgrimage sites in the world (3rd only to the Holy Land and the Vatican, respectively), Santiago de Compostela is also a favorite wedding venue.  When I was there last July, I chanced upon a group of people who were just coming out of the church.  Apparently, they were part of a wedding party and were walking to the nearby hotel for the reception. It was great to see the women in their colorful dresses and hats, and the men in their suits and colorful ties.  As the bridal car sped away, I caught a glimpse of the blushing groom. Although half of his face was hidden, I could see how radiant he was.  Clearly, this was the happiest day of his life.

Deborah Bowness’ 20th Century Trompe L’Oeil

Deborah Bowness’ refers to her wallpapers as Trompe L’Oeil, a French design style that ‘tricks the eye’, creating an illusion of space and rendering flat images into almost three-dimensional objects.

“My prints feature life size domestic objects – I’m inspired by everyday objects around me.  The paper I make is unique.  I worked out my own production techniques and combine digital and silk screen printing.  I often describe the look as an old style tinted photograph.  All the paper I design is printed in the small factory run by my sister in the north of England.”
